In SLS 3D Printing, a laser selectively sinters polymer powder particles, fusing them together and layer by layer producing an object. SLS 3D Printing materials are thermoplastic polymers that arrive in granular form.
To achieve optimal mechanical characteristics and avoid warping in pieces, the build chambers must be slightly cooled down inside the print enclosure and then outside the printer after printing. This can take a considerable length of time.
The completed sections must be taken out of the build chamber, separated, and cleaned of superfluous powder. The powder can be recycled, and the printed pieces can be post-processed further via media blasting or media tumbling.
